Notes for Fay Ekman: Fay left home at seventeen and went nursing in Horsham. She won the Ryan Prize for being the best nurse in training in the Wimmera. She moved to Melbourne to do her midwifery certificate. After completing her studies she went
overseas with some friends and met Kevin Leggett in England. They eventually married and had two sons, Kevin Jnr and Jonathon. Fay died in Wangaratta on November 1994 at the age of 48.
